i think my boss is mad

hey ppl!!! finally we got settled down enough to start a blog!!

Korea is fun! the korean exchange students that came over to NUS brought us around and help us bridge the language barrier. i just think they are great!! so, the first few days were looking around and travelling around and eating around.... im lazy to write where we went lah. i got time then put the photos up.

anyway, korean stuff are pricey! their standard of living is actually higher than ours. i dont know why... i seriously, seriously think they are not as affluent as us. but after a cup of starbucks cost 8bucks, i know im in deep shit.

so, we have started working in this company called SPACE. Apparently one of the best in korea and probably the biggest... hmm i dont know whether they equate big = one of the best.. i sure hope not. all 6 of us got posted to different studios. and i got the urban design studio. we start work at 9 and end at 6. its bad enough that we have to travel 2 hrs to work, its worse that it cost 3 bucks per ride on the subway whats worst is that we have to stand throughout that bloody 2 hrs. oh well, what to do i lead a hard life...

Apparently in Korea, nobody but u speak english. for the first few times, when they commute to each other in korean, i try to act interested. after awhile its just tiring, then it becomes boring and to entertain myself, i try to decipher what they were saying....

my boss was chatting over lunch to our team of designers, and as usual he was using korean. not caring about whether i understand or not... (his english suck anyway, i would never be able to understand even if he uses english) and he did some weird actions, a whipping action, and some hammering action, and somehow i got the idea that he was talking about whipping a dog and digging out its brains to eat (koreans eat dog meat on a certain festival day they call chung puk because it helps cool the body temperature in the hottest summer days.)

Anyway when i asked the other korean intern what was the boss talking about, she said that the boss was talking about being naughty when he was young and his parents has to tie him around the neck to a column so he cannot run away... hmm at least i got the dog part correct.

on my way home, my other boss called me and talked in some weird english... i think he was mad. firstly, coz he called me when he doest know how to speak english. secondly, he started shouting and laughing, incoherently and insanely. thirdly, he said he misses me. i barely met him for an hour. somehow im kinda afraid to go to work tomorrow.

well i hope things would turn out fine tmr... maybe someone would speak to me in proper english.

im fine and having fun. yay...

hope you guys back there are well and good.

take care
