Wallpaper October 2010 Issue

TEXT: WallPaper Magazine

To bring guest editor Robert Wilson's eye-popping video portraits to life on the pages of our October issue, we enlisted the help of creative communications agency Dentsu London. Using an acetate screen and the pre-cinema French technique of Ombro Cinema, Dentsu London animated the portraits and graphics in the magazine to mind-boggling effect. Here we see how the project came to fruition

Looks like I will be getting a copy of Wallpaper next month. =) NICE!

Prada Spring Summer 2011 Womenswear Show

Loved the way the 2011 Season is going to be  presented again.
This i assume is held at the PRADA Foundation, Milan.

I saw the Menswear Presentation a couple of months ago so... it was pleasant surprise that the same set is  re-used.

The same concrete brute factory space has always been re-configured to be re-presented for shows and exhibitions. But this has to be one of my favorites sets. Its very "Clinical/Laboratory Industrial" ... if there is such a description. Perfect setting for a very "sterile" viewing of clothes....hahaha.

So take note my FASHIONISTAS friends and...WATCH... even if u cannot afford.

and u might just spot DR. ERWIN VIRAY. =)

Wonderwall - Cat Power

Japanese Design Principals

This original blog entry was taken from my friend Yang Han. I guess it would be a nice thing to share.=)

The Zen principles of Aesthetics are derived from the Buddhism beliefs of Anicca or Impermanence where “everything, without exception, is constantly in flux, even planets, stars and gods”. (Wikipedia)

THE PRINCIPLES:

FUKINSEI
(imbalanced)
Asymmetry, odd numbers, irregularity, unevenness, imbalance is used as a denial of perfection as perfection and symmetry does not occur in nature.

KANSO
(simple)
Elimination of ornate and things of simplicity by nature expresses their truthfulness. Neat, frank and uncomplicated.

KOKOU
(austere)
Basic, weathered bare essentials that are aged and unsensuous. Evokes sternness, forbiddance, maturity and weight.

SHIZEN
(natural)
Raw, natural and unforced creativity without pretence. True naturalness is to negate the naive and accidental.

YUGEN
(subtle profound)
Suggest and not reveal layers of meaning hidden within. Invisible to the casual eye and avoiding the obvious.

DATSUZOKU
(unworldly)
Transcendence of conventional and traditional. Free from the bondage of laws and restrictions. True creativity.

SEIJAKU
(calm)
Silence and tranquility, blissful solitude. Absence of disturbance and noise from one’s mind, body and surroundings
